keep their vests from stinking. Below are some helpful hints to keep it clean
and maintain the ballistics. Please refer to and follow the individual manufacturer
instructions, but here are some of the basics. Also, DO NOT HANG YOUR VEST on a coat hanger/ hook, lay it flat at all times and little spritz of

The below details are general care instructions – however – there are
many components to your product, and each will have it’s own set of care

Ballistic Pad

Wipe with damp cloth.

DO NOT machine wash or machine dry.

Carrier

To clean carrier, REMOVE the ballistic panels.

Machine was carrier using GENTLE cycle at a COOL
temperature.

DO NOT use bleach, DO NOT use fabric
softener.
4.
Carrier may be air dried or machine dried at LOW setting.
5.
DO NOT commercially dry clean.

Dusty’s Gun Cleaning Tips:
1.
BE SURE YOUR WEAPON IS UNLOADED!!! You could shoot yourself
or someone else or shoot a big hole in the floor. Remove the ammunition from your weapon
either by opening the revolver or removing the magazine. Make sure that the chamber is EMPTY by pulling back on the
slide. Lock the slide open by pushing the slide catch lever up with the slide
back. Look in the chamber by holding the gun away from you and pointing down,
finger away from trigger and make sure there is no bullet there. AGAIN, finger away from the trigger! Make
sure you clean your weapon in a
well-ventilated area away from any food, drink, distractions, flames, or children.
2.
Get your cleaning supplies together in
the same place. I use and sell a universal gun cleaning kit along with gun
cleaning solvent and gun oil. There are many different kinds and most work for
all types of guns. I use Hoppe’s Solvent and Hoppe’s Oil.
3.
A lot of people use Gun Scrubber which is
good BUT
if you get it on the grips it WILL discolor the grips or the stock.
4.
When cleaning
your gun, dip a bristle bronze brush (different sizes are made for different
calibers) into the solvent and run it down thru the bore several times. THEN
run clean cloth patches thru the bore until no more residue shows on the
patches.
5.
Oil is like a magnet and from firing your gun it will
turn “gunky” and can jam up your gun SO all
you need is a very light, very thin film of oil on your gun, you should barely be able to see it with
your eyes. Remember that if you see any oil running or dripping out any time,
you've got too much oil. Wipe the excess off with a clean cotton cloth (old T-shirts
work good for this). Remember – less is best!
6.
Place 1 drop
of oil on the cylinder hinge and the extractor rod of a revolver or on an auto
place 1 drop on either side of the slide.
7.
Store your
gun away in safe place from children.
8.
Place all of
your cleaning supplies in 1 spot – that is why I use a kit because it has a
storage bag.
9.
This list is a standard cleaning that should be
performed after every firing at the range or in the field. Protect yourself and your investment by doing
this.
10.
If your gun is used heavily, a more
thorough dis-assembly and cleaning should be performed.
Read your gun’s owner’s manual for
specific cleaning instructions and if in doubt, give me a call. And AGAIN, ALWAYS MAKE SURE YOUR GUN ISN’T
LOADED BEFORE CLEANING.
